I'm Janilet and I'm here because I want to learn how to be a well rounded leader. I hope to learn more about what it takes to be a strong individual as well.
When I first got to the challenge course I was very curious to what we were going to do exactly. When I found out, I was pretty excited. Until we actually started climbing; I was somewhat nervous. The very first one I got on was scary. I'm good at balancing so I didn't think it would be that bad, until I started climbing up and looked down. I panicked and got extremely scared. After a while I let go of the pole and started walking and felt fine. It was the same for the rest of the courses that I climbed on, I guess. One of my biggest challenges was letting go. It was kind of difficult, but I guess it's a good thing to practice. It can help you with many aspects of your life. Sometimes you just have to let go and keep moving forward, no matter how difficult and afraid you are. I feel like the more you conquer your fears, the stronger you become as an individual, as well as being more confident with yourself, and others around you.
The activities that we do are pretty fun. I really enjoyed bowling. I'm not that great, but the shoes were nice, and the bowling itself was, too. I just wish I was better at it. Hanging out with the people was pretty alright as well. Overall the day went well.
